Macau Day 2

MACAU DAY 2 ~Senado Square, farewell~

Today we left our luggage at the hotel and explore the area near our hotel - senado square.
senado square
Honestly none of us had mood to look around much. So unappreciative of us >.<
Shall lessen oversea trips to once or at most twice a year.

Or maybe we are not amused because the feel is quite similiar to our Melaka?

Last meal for Macau trip so we decided that we MUST try the portugese seafood again. Quite satisfactory this time :)

Even though we had a lot of time left before our flight, we didn't feel like exploring anymore. One and a half day is really more than enough for Macau.  If you ask me if we have any 未練 i would say that we would have loved to see some supposedly cool water performance at one of the casinos. We only attempted to book yesterday but the seats were already fully booked for the next two weeks oAo,

We spent the next 30 minutes hunting for a cab to go to the airport. Didn't think finding cab in macau would be such a hassel.

But hey. finally... we are going back to our homeland ^^

Macau Day 1

MACAO DAY 1 ~Taipa Village, Galaxy Casino~

I had breakfast in bed this morning- 3 egg tarts and other nice snacks brought back by beh and weiling from a nearby bakery. Then off we go to Macao by ferry/boat/whatever it was. The ferry pier was within walking distance from the hotel so yay~ HKD140 for the one hour ride btw.

Queuing for taxi. This is quite unexpected... i thought there would be  lots of taxi drivers begging to get our business lol.

Lots of weird/grand/cool skyscrapers that are casinos.

hotel ole londonhotel ole london

hotel ole london
Hotel Ole London (HKD227 after dividing 3) is cheaper than Hotel Bauhinia so we initially wanted to stay here two nights. Thank GOD we didn't. Please don't be tricked by the classy feel of the dim yellow lights. The room was sooo narrow and old, lots of cracks on the wall, narrow toilet/bathroom AND no mirror oAo. Ah well.

macau
Acting scared because the area seemed so shady. Beh's face so pro haha.

macau

The whole Macao is kind of narrow, lots of ups and downs, roads winding here and there.

Took a bus to Taipa Village which is a tad bit far away. I probably wouldn't have dared to take the bus if i wasn't with wei ling and beh. They are so.. fearless. When we finally found this bus stop i've already totally forgotten the way back to the hotel orz.

 Taipa Village!!

Our first target? Food hunting!
Dumbo Restaurant~~~~ How cool is that? Beh found this shop from navi travel website. Famous shop among Japanese.  Even the waiters and waitresses can speak Japanese.

It's a Portuguese restaurant which Macao is famous for but i'm sad to say the food tasted so and so only(_ _|||)

Many shops in there... mostly food souvenir shops. Quite nice to browse around = Many free sampling. I have learnt that Macao is famous for 1) portugese egg tarts  2) food souvenir shops 3) casinos. Oya Macao accepts HKD which was very convenient.. as least we don't have to convert again.

And we found a casino nearby! We did wanted to go to a casino while we're in Macao so this was quite perfect ^^. This one is called Galaxy casino. Looks pretty grand, huh? I actually thought the whole building was going to be a casino hahaha. There are actually hotel and shopping mall in it and the casino is only a small small part. Must be nice to be able to stay in the hotel.

 Beh WONNNN!!!!
She only put in HKD10 and got HKD300!!! On her first try! So exciting (*゜∇゜*)♪
Me and wei ling tried the slots first with HKD20. Only wei ling had experience before, once in Singapore so she was like our sifu. But we still had no idea what the buttons are for. I wanted to play more but to my surprise beh and wei ling said ok let's go (>_<)

Sorry beh for the unflattering picture.
We didn't know taking photos is not allowed in the casino. The staff caught us just when i pressed. Should have pressed the button a second earlier haha. The photo is beh with her winning ticket showing how much she won.

Shopping mall quite pretty. We then asked hotel galaxy staff where we can ride the free shuttle bus back to senato where our hotel is. He taught us politely and even reminded us what is the time of the latest bus to come back here (we pretended to be the hotel's guests to get better treatment). So, yea! We got a free ride back muahaha.

On our way jalan2 back we came across this shop! Famous for milk things, i think?
Of course, it's thanks to beh again haha. I'm such a bad travel companion this time. Only concentrated on searching info for taiwan trip.

It's our last night btw >.<

Hong Kong Day 3

HONG KONG DAY 3 ~Nice breakfast, Kwai Chong Plaza, Symphony of Lights, LKF~

breakfast at hongkong
We woke up extra early (9am) just to eat the dimsum before going back hotel to finish our makeup(o^∀^). So lucky to have such a yummy restaurant within walking distance from our hotel. Info is thanks to the auntie owner of another shop we went yesterday morning (whose breakfast wasn't yummy at all). People say hong kong people are rude but so far we're doing alright!

Hotel Bauhinia had a different receptionist girl today. She was very sweet and gave us a lot of suggestions and directed us to Kwai Chong Plaza at Kwai Fong station when we asked about shopping.

No photos of shopping mall because we were too busy shopping hehe. The prices of clothes at Kwai Chong Plaza were quite reasonable but shopping in kl would have been better. The cheapest one piece would still need rm40 plus all the clothes cannot try on so there goes half the fun of shopping. But we're still satisfied with Kwai Chong Plaza *thumbs up*

 vending machine for umbrellas O.O

hong kong night view
We're back in Avenue of Stars again! This time to watch the Symphony of Lights which is held every night at 8 o'clock. Because we got there early around 7pm plus, we found ourselves a very good spot ^^v. It became more and more crowded as the time neared 8pm.

hong kong night view

symphony of lights

symphony of lights

The Symphony of Lights was very lame to say the least. When it ended everyone was like "That was it oAo ?!?" Don't get me wrong. I do think the night view is very very nice and gorgeous. But i would be ashamed to advertise the few weak and uncoordinated laser beams as an attraction. The music was like how i read it online - cheesy and chinese-y.

Behbeh quite tired from our day so she decided to not go Lan Kwai Fong with us. Awwww...
I was surprised that wei ling was interested at all though. Must be hk drama influence.

Lan Kwai Fong was quite lively and had a lot of ang mohs. We couldn't find any clubs so we just went into random pubs. None were to our liking though. The pubs are great for getting to know new guys maybe but we just wanted to dance to the music. We finally came across one but the entrance fee was HKD50 -wayyy too expensive so we just gave it a pass - walked around letting the lively atmosphere sink in a little bit more before we took a cab back.
I'm happy to say this was my closest to bonding experience with wei ling XD

Hong Kong Day 2

HONG KONG DAY 2 ~Tian Tan Buddha, Ngong Ping Cable Car, Elements, Ladies Market~

Today is the day for god~
Humongous buddha statue- here we come!

outlets o.o
But we went straight to line for the bus to go tian tan buddha orz

tian tan buddha
The bus took longer than i thought... an hour of windy roads @@. But we're here!!

First stop to shelter from the heat - tofu hua with special syrup and yellow powder (honey maybe?). Fyi tofu hua in ngong pis a 名物

tian tan buddha
Beh said she saw a hong kong drama where the mother-in-law made the girl climb all the way up and down the stairs in HEELS to prove her love for the husband. Then the girl fainted when she reached back downstairs LOL

tian tan buddhatian tan buddha
I thought wahh must be super high and impossible to reach but turned out quite normal haha.

tian tan buddha
I also went up in heels what.

silly ang moh.... can u not tell that the buddha statue(which includes the head) is supposed to be the main object (besides us) in the photo -.-??

our vegetarian lunch..
ok yummy
disgusting
ok nice

ngong ping

ngong ping village
They have an assortment of cable cars from from all over the world

ngong ping
We were tired plus wei ling got carsick from the bus trip earlier so we decided to sayang ourselves and splash out by taking the cable car back (bus- HKD17.2, cable car-HKD86)

This is the crystal cabin which cost an extra HKD44 compared to the standard ones we rode. It has a glass bottom i think... other than that i don't see no other differences except the queue for it is a lot shorter compared to ours because of the price.

ngong ping cable car
The views from the cable car were spectacular!! I was to find out later that the ngong ping cable car is an attraction itself haha. We thought it was just a faster way to travel.

ngong ping cable car

ngong ping cable car

ngong ping cable car
The whole trip was more than 20 minutes!

ngong ping cable car
Anddd we're back at Tung Chung station.

elementselements
Beh suggested that we should go Elements, a shopping mall targeted for upper middle class with lots of high-end shops - just to 'experience'. It's connected to Kowloown MTR station so we don't have to do much walking yay! Bought nothing as expected haha.

And finally - LADIES STREET! At long last a place we (hopefully) can buy stuff.
ladies market

ladies market
Ladies Street is ok but there are some shops you really need to bargain or you'll get cheated.

We are fast workers haha. Each of us bought a pair of shoes within 20 minutes! Me and beh bought the same pink with cute ribbon wedges.

Famous shop for guilin gao according to beh.
Beh very geng..Knows all the famous food. We just need to follow her ^^

This was very yummy and fun!

My shou huo for the day!
