HANABI 花火

I went to see the Kobe's Firework Display! On August 7th. It was the Saturday between exam week .
But hey it was worth it. I mean sure there was exam on the upcoming Monday but hey, this firework display is ALWAYS held during the weekend of term exam week every year. So if i was to think about exam study and not come this year, it would have applied for every year so ... oya the tower up in the photo is called Kobe Tower.  Never went up cause i seriously think its a waste of money. It's only pretty from outside, believe me.

These are the gals i went with. From left: me, the mongolian gal otgon, chisato, minami, emi, junko and miku. They're all 3rd year students, one grade below me (3 years younger than me except Otgon who's same age as me). Seriously I'm having tough luck having common ground to talk with my guy classmates who are 2 years younger than i am so i'm really wondering how Otgon is doing with hers, being 3 years older. Apparently she doesn't really bother so she's not speaking with her guy classmates i think. Gals are always easy to mix in no matter the age gap, thank god.
Except for chisato and minami, the rest of us stay in the dorm so we're kinda close.

The photo on the left is taken by miku whereas the right is by me. Personally i think my shot is a lot better, no?
A photo taken by miku using my technique XD. Crawl super low to the ground and angle the camera from bottom to top. Makes anyone looks super tall ^^. Of course the price is small eyes.. i should have look elsewhere, damn.

....

I seriously curse myself for thinking the 1st photo look a lot better than the one with me looking back ==.

oya. I would like to bring attention to the obi (belt). Junko (the gal on the right) helped me tie it! She probably never really tied one before either but she searched for videos on how to tie obi on internet and got it right on the first try! Only miku and mine had to be tied. The others got those ready made ribbons which they just have to pin on. I prefer the tie-it-yourself version though. I'm gonna get junko to teach me how to tie one too once the holiday's over =). And fyi, the belt was super expensive. it costed me
1) 690 yen (rm27)
2) 630yen for the post(rm24)
3) 3 hours to search on the internet
4) my pride
the post money was supposed to be only 180 yen by mail post. heck i even especially order it earlier on internet so that it can arrive in time even by mail post which probably takes around 3 days. i'm POSITIVE i definitely chose the 180yen mail post when i ordered it! but when i got the confirmation email which was a lot later, it said that i chose the kuroneko delivery system! damn! i don't get why the post money and the belt itself only has a 60 yen difference!!  My yukata only costed 980yen(rm40)

btw. the most ironic thing has to be that in the confirmation letter, the shop told me" not to worry!". They have taken special measure, which is to only start sending it the next day with kuroneko (the kuroneko delivery system is fast) so that it arrives on right on saturday.
i was like what the hell, what for did i sacrifice 3 hours of my time on the night before my applied maths term exam to order it?? yes. i blame the 3 hours i didn't use for studying applied maths for the reason i only got around 40 marks on it and had to resit for the exam.

a photo i took in the train

only me in heels..geta hurts and the slippers i own aren't suited for going outside so...

we-rock-even-if-we're-wearing-yukata pose?

ah yes.. i couldn't find my camera that day so all the photos were taking with miku's camera.
and there's another thing i gotta confess...

you won't be seeing any photos of the firework =)
i didn't take any

sorry the main point of the kobe hanabi thingy for me (and i think i can speak for all of us gals out there) is to dress up in yukata XD.

the fireworks were great by the way.

sorry that was kind of a shabby description huh?
it was really cool actually. they have all sorts of themes and songs to go along with the fireworks. it was the first time i realised that music does help to build the hanabi atmosphere

this is a link of the video on the kobe hanabi.....if you really wanna see the fireworks that much. there're probably  a lot better videos out there though. and the video only managed to catch half the essence of the hanabi.
 it's that great.
