korea day four

palace & insadong & world cup stadium

today carine's friends who are studying in korea (same like us under JPA) were kind enough to show us around!!

first stop: the famous korea ginseng soup at the most famous ginseng soup shop!
i'm tasteless but i'd still give this a thumbs up!

they next bring us to a place where we can write our own name in korean

one of our rare everyone-in group photo

just a place we came across while walking from the ginseng soup shop to the palace

note the huge straw man statue sitting on the edge of the curb
u should be able to see it if you enlarge the photo!
me and sze yang tried to edge our  way towards it but got sreamed at halfway through our attempt by a guard
how barbaric... couldn't they have just told us nicely we can't climb there?

my favourite group photo!

the palace~
there's a total of 5 royal palaces in seoul and this is one of it...
i didn't bother to remember the name
have to pay money to get it so

i was about to pull a weird pose until carine's friends said we can't =(

insadong!
another shopping street weee~~

insadong is the best place to buy souvenirs!
it has the greatest variety and the prices are the cheapest if you are good at bargaining
remember to do all your souvenir shopping here!

a rather famous mall within insadong. i'm not good at explaning but the mall itself is a spiral shape so you don't have to climb any stairs to get to the next floor.
it just gradually gets higher and higher as you walk

lydia and sze yang went off to pakto, leaving us 5 to explore around! poor dong sheng haha

we still had a lot of time in our hands by the time we finished insadong so we hopped onto the subway and proceded to the world cup stadium

if you concentrate you should be able to see a zigzag shape thing on the hill
we climbed that
300++stairs
thought my legs were gonna give out before i reach the summit

many thanks to carine's friends!
originally we had already given up going to the world cup stadium since none of the members had any particular interest in it. it wasn't really that fascinating or anything but it was still a place worth visiting in seoul! and of course we owe this night view to them too!

a supermarket just outside the world cup stadium.
it was quite nice to had the chance to see how a normal korean supermarket looks like

yup that plastic bag's all mine.. even at a supermarket my shopaholic urges just won't calm down ^^

back in our room
came back from the shower to find dong sheng sitting on my bed to cool off ==

laughing while i demanded he come down that instant

still smirking =)

~good nite~
